After returning home from Africa in May 2010 I am a different person. God opened my eyes to a world that I didn't know existed before. A world of poverty and sickness, but also a world of hope and love. I try to organize a "mission of the month" each month and encourage those around me to help others as well.
One of my friends said this recently about our projects and it really struck me:
"People look at me like I'm a walking TV ad for world hunger (which, by the way, I look at SO differently now). At first, I felt almost belittled, like it was childish to think we could impact anyone else's life in this way, but it dawned on me while reading a Lenten reflection one day that this is JUST how God wants us to live- with a childlike faith and excitement to serve our Savior"

May 2011: Sole Hope
The founder of Sole Hope and her family have recently taken a leap of faith and have committed to moving to Uganda to head up the African Sole Hope Headquarters. We want to send a suitcase full of shoes with her when they go!
