My life is good.

Again, I find myself at a place where I am feeling God's abundant Grace and Provision...and I just want to record some of the beautiful little things I've been seeing in my family.

What a better way to start a Saturday morning than with smiling pancakes. I am so blessed to have kids in my home to share small fun things like this with.

It's no secret that we've struggled with Blake over the past year. But, we realize that it is only God who can win and heal this child's heart, and therefore change his attitude and behavior. So...we just keep looking up! I've seen two small things over the past week that make me smile and thank Jesus.

two hearts that my children have found outside...a piece of metal and a rock
sweet reminders that "the greatest of these is love"

1. The boys each got a free hot dog, cup of koolaid, and a cookie after their last baseball game. Unfortunately it was for players only, so little sister got left out. She was okay with it (as we were on our way to a local ice cream shop to celebrate), but Blake didn't want to see her left out, so he gave her his cookie. "Because Graysen didn't get anything". I'm seeing small glimpses that he's starting to understand what it means to give, and be a brother. His food even...this is HUGE.

2. Graysen wanted to go outside, but she's not allowed to play outside by herself yet. She was sad that no one wanted to go out with her, and who stepped up and volunteered? Blake!!! So proud.
I love how her hair around her face curls in the heat

As many people are struggling trying to find a job today, my husband and I are struggling to decide what to turn down. We have been offered too much for our family, and we can't decide what to take, and what to walk away from. We're praying for discernment, and for those families who are needing a job period. Thank you for blessing us Lord.

(they are highly anticipated in our home!)

I was in the check out line behind a woman who didn't have enough money for her very small grocery bill. I had the privilege of paying the remaining amount (and crying in front of everyone in the process). Thank you Lord for breaking my heart for what breaks yours.

she always makes me smile!

My neighbor's washing machine broke, so she asked if we could finish the load of laundry that she had in. It was no problem at all, and when it was done I just hung them on her clothes line for her to dry. A little bit later she walked over with two apple pies as a thank you! So precious to me...and what a treat for my kids today!

P.S. - I'm glad your blogging break isn't really a "break." ;) I'd miss reading it!

Thanks for making me cry in the middle of the night. I couldn't sleep after feeding London so I came here... Always a joy! So glad for the steps Blake is making and so thankful that he has parents like you and Lincoln who are faithful in praying for him and teaching him.

Such amazing things to blog about! The laundry for the neighbor and pies in return makes me think of stories my grandparents would talk about helping neighbors and in return getting home baked goodies or help with something they had going on.

Isn't it amazing?! When you pay attention to God's blessings, they're all around.
