Hunter got skates for Easter last year and has worn them 20ish times around the living room, but with the change of nice weather (that we WERE having...) he has shown an interest in them more. We took them outside and practiced skating up and down the road several times a few weeks ago. I was telling him that there is a special floor to skate on at the play place and asked if he would like to try next time we went. He was excited, so we made plans to go later that week.
When we got there, he was very excited to start trying to learn to skate. The employees were nice enough to let us take him out on the floor with just our tennis shoes on (because we surely would've fallen as well!). Lincoln took him out the first time. One trip around the rink and Hunter was done. He came back to the play place and played for awhile and then decided he was ready for another try. The second time he went once around with Lincoln and then let Mommy take him once around. This was the end of our first skating experience. He said he was having fun, but preferred to play in the play zone the rest of the visit.
Maybe we'll try again in a few weeks...

Good to know that they would let parents not have skates on! :o)
