Wow...today marks 1 week since we made the commitment to follow God's calling and adopt our child from Ethiopia. This has been on my heart for several years now, and I honestly think that I have ALWAYS pictured myself with a multi-cultural family. It's amazing how much I have learned in the past week and how much more farther we have to go!!
I thought today, for the first time, about how we (and our children) are going to handle the negative comments from small minded individuals who are disapproving of our multi-cultural family. I am adding this to my list of prayer concerns with God! :0)
It makes me feel better thinking that I'm doing something toward bringing my baby home everyday, so I will try to include a list of accomplishments (I'm trying to use positive words...lol).
Accomplishments:
- Got a return email from AAI...read through all their information.
- Talked to PCB - not very encouraging phone call
- Emailed AAI with a couple of questions, had several emails back and forth
- Talked to a few more possible home study agencies
- Wrote a letter to friends and family announcing the news
- Told our Bible Study group. This will be a huge help to me knowing that I can openly count on these people to be praying for the safety of my baby so far away from me, and for us.
