Corinthians 10:7-13

Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and go up to indulge in pagan revelry". We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did - and were killed by snakes. And do not grumble, as some of they did - and were killed by the destroying angel. These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

I love these verses! Isn't it amazing that God provides us the strength to make the right choice the first time, and yet, when we don't, He is willing to forgive us of our sins?! I have started really teaching this verse to my children. Along with our fruits of the spirit we are now learning that God has provided us the strength and option to make the right choice...the first time! Thank you Lord for this option!

I read over this verse a couple weeks ago, and it really empowered me! How awesome is it that god doesn't allow us to be tempted past what we can bear?! And not only that.... He gives us a way out of it too! I had felt like so often to overcome a temptation was easy in some cases bit unobtainable in others. Good to know with absolute certainty that it's not!
