New Years Eve 2010 in pictures

Our last day of 2010 started like this...because of a tornado! The tornado actually killed 4 (I think) people in the town 10 miles west of ours. We stayed this way for about 30 minutes. Blake and Silas were VERY confused!

After about half an hour I decided it was safe for me to leave the room, so I went into the kitchen and whipped up some shiro wat and brought it back to the bathroom for the boys to munch on. They were thrilled and I didn't hear any more complaining about staying in the bathroom.

After all was clear, the rest of the day was pretty chill. There was some game playing...

That evening we went over to Britt and Nick's. When we got there I decorated the table!

There was some wrestling...

and Rock band playing was a hit. Each kid had something to do (although they didn't all register with the game, but hey, who really cares, right?).

While the littles played quietly in the playroom...

We had yummy food...(WW friendly. Each of these taco bites are only 1 point!)

We made shakers (out of paper cups, colorful tape, and kolo - from Ethiopia!)

Let the countdown to midnight begin... (let me say that it was actually 8:30, but we moved the clocks as to not have to deal with ridiculously tired kiddos the next day!) We made these count down numbers as one of our crafts earlier in the week.

(I did #5 and didn't get a picture of it!)

A party proceeded outside! We had noise blowers, confetti shooters, and shakers. It doesn't get much better than this!

Family pictures...

We get crazy with our sparkling grape juice!

We stopped by Sissy and Chad's when we got home to see them for New Years.

2010 was quite the year for our family. We were blessed in 2010, but we're looking even more forward to 2011 where we're all together, opening our hearts to The Lord...where will we go, what will He have us do? I can't wait to be on this radical adventure together!!!

"Whipped up some shiro waat" -- with three kids in the bathroom!?!?!? I'm IMPRESSED!!!! Wanna share ur recipe? Looks like a blast -- and LOVE the idea of moving the clocks to avoid exhausted meltdowns!

Isn't that crazy.. tornados in December! We were in Indiana so I missed that (and also missed the Earthquake in Indiana the day before).

Looks like such a fun New Year's Eve! I love that you celebrated at 8:30 :) Did the kids think it was midnight?

Love the idea of moving the clocks up! I may have to try that with the boys next year.
Although I hope that next New Years Eve doesn't start with Tornados.
