This Year I Want To...

write 2 letters.  There are two people that I would like to tell how much their footprint on my life means to me.  One was a high school teacher, another an ultrasound technician.  I did not realize at the time what each of them would mean to me years later, but I can't get either of them out of my mind and I take that to mean that God would like me to let them know!  I'm not currently in contact with either, so I suppose I will just mail these letters.  I'm not sure if either will remember who I am, but that's not the important part.  What I hope to accomplish is to let them know that they are wonderful at their occupation and to encourage them to continue doing an excellent job every day.  I'll let you know when I get them off...

i too am very reflective on things like this from my past. sometimes i feel we are a rare breed. what a great idea to write a letter.
i know i personally sometimes i go overboard with trying to show people how grateful i am. but i'm just very enthusiastic i guess. a more calculated approach might be better. you are very inspiring ashley.

Thanks Deanne! I am finding it very difficult to express in writing (or words) what I want to tell these two individuals, so the letters are slow coming. I've decided to just keep plugging away at it and hopefully the letters will eventually be a blessing in their lives. I know that I've received words of encouragement at JUST the right time in my life in the past and I hope that this is what it will be for them as well.

I know that as a teacher, I do sometimes forget about students, but only for awhile. I save the notes and letters I've gotten from kids, and they are so meaningful. I think most people, no matter their line of work, wish to help others and make a positive impact. So few of us ever know that we did/do make an impact. I encourage you to write the letters! It will make their day (maybe their year or career).
