May 14th, 2010 - Leaving on a Jet Plane

We woke up at 4:00 a.m. and Kara and Chad came over to stay with the kids. We were so grateful to them for doing this because it meant that we were able to spend that last night with the kids rather than having them sleep somewhere else.
My sister and I right before leaving the house.

We drove to STL and went to our friend Caleb's house. He hopped in with us and drove us to the airport. He helped us unload all of our luggage and then took the van back to his house for the week so we didn't have to pay for parking. See how so many people blessed us on this journey?! Remember that even if you don't feel like you have anything big to offer someone, God asks us to offer what we DO have...and it will always be enough!

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia!

Stop 1: Chicago, IL

On our way to our second stop of the day.

Stop 2: Washington DC

In Washington we called home and spoke with the kids. We knew this would be the last time we talked to them on the phone until we hit US soil again...a week later! It was bittersweet, but we were starting to get really excited about the adventure that was ahead of us!
